This blunt lob that has invisible layers was designed by hair stylist Jessy Graham from Plano, TX. Graham says, “blunt bobs have a tendency to become too heavy on bottoms of coarse, thick hair, and this is a great method to get rid of bulk and make the styling process and keeping this style easy.” This style works ideal on oval faces with coarse, thick hair. “I love applying Aquage Silkening Oil on the ends and the mid-lengths to stop frizz and smooth out the curls that the hair has. You can also apply Sea Salt Texturizing Spray to scrunch into the hair to create the look of a wavy, lived-in style,” adds Graham. In case your hair is dirty spray dry shampoo around the root and then pull hair up to the side and to create a ponytail around the top. To finish it off and wrap the rest of it of your ponytail around, using the bobby pin to lock the ends in the base of your ponytail.

It’s a more polished version of the well-known beachy wave style. It’s possible to dress it up and air dry naturally with fantastic products to show off the natural texture of your hair.” In regards the art of styling it, she shares, “I used Kevin Murphy’s Smooth. Again which is smoothing treatment that helps reduce frizz while leaving the hair feeling soft and silky. I paired it along with Kevin Murphy’s Anti.Gravity product, which provides an extra hold and body. I blew dried my hair, and then I used an iron flat to create waves.”
#13: Mid Length Beach Wave Balayage
This beach-like, mid-length Balayage was developed by the senior colorist Elle Brodsky of Nutley, NJ. “I am a fan of mid-length hair, and it’s in fashion,” she says. “This is a style that is sensual and flirty, and yet you can still look great with the ponytail. You can appear to have the cool style of a shorter haircut, but without the obligation of having a cut shorter.” For blow drying, Brodsky recommends using something more texturizing. Use a spray that thickens, such as Maxamista by Oribe all over the roots from the ends. After that, apply light creams like Super Shine Light by Oribe for just the mids and ends. She also says “rough dry up to around 80 percent using your fingers. Then, finish the blowout using an oval brush to smooth out the cuticle then apply the light hairspray, such as Work It by Tigi. Utilizing an iron that is 1 1/4 inches long use only the mid-points of curls, leaving the ends to fall out.” Let the curls cool before spraying a texturing spray for beach such as Apres Beach by Oribe all over the hair to give it more volume and create a polished but not finished appearance. The combination of these items will aid in maintaining the color and create lived-in oval-face hairstyles.
